Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe came from a multicultural family. Born in South London. Her mother is English and her father is Nigerian. She grew on an estate in south London community estate, and when she was 14, attended The Brit School. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned a BA degree in acting. She was a part of various stage productions during her college days, such as the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe first began her career as an actress through the film Storm Damage. Over the past few years, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe landed her first motion picture role in the Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. In the wake of that film's success she was cast as Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN which aired in 2007 and she also appeared in the six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside playing Ollie. The year 2008 saw her was offered the role in the role of Bambi in the ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl, appearing in three and two series. Madekwe made an appearance in the 2008 Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. The credits she has in her theatre work include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes on The CW, and was then removed from the air. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge in February of 2011. Following her appearance as a regular on the initial two seasons the show was announced late May 2013 that Madekwe would leave the show after an appearance as a guest in the pilot episode in the season's third. In the TV series Salem the actress played Tituba in 2014 through the year 2016. Madekwe married her long-time partner, Iddo. They've collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he played a part with her in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty and four older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball parks since her four athletic brothers all played hockey and baseball as well as both during winter and summer. Ashley was not a walker, but she would dance. At age two and a half, she was introduced to Baby Ballet. Ashley was hooked on dance immediately. Until she graduated from the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet pointe, acrobatics musical theatre, lyrical and hip-hop. She was the top soloist in important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
