Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg is a Swedish actor from Sweden. She was in various films both European as well as American. Most famously, she is known for playing the role of "La Dolce Via," the comedy-drama film. In 1960 the film received the Golden Palm and an Oscar by the Cannes Film Festival. The movie also enjoyed critically and commercial success. The actress was born in Skane where she worked as models before launching an acting career. Eventually, she won the Miss Sweden Contest. Following her move to the US she was able to act in a variety of films, acting in minor characters. She was the Venusian Guard in 'Abbott and Costello Go to Mars. It was her first film credit. That same year she was awarded the Golden Globe in the category of "Most Outstanding Newcomer" in recognition of her character in "Blood Alley. Her appearances in other films throughout her career. The most notable of these is the War Drama between Italy and America 'War and Peace,'"Valerie," the Western film "Valerie" and the British Adventure Crime Film 'The Man Inside,' and the French and Italian thriller The Dam on the Yellow River. In 2015, she passed away when she was the 83rd year of her age.
